Overall this place was great, kitchen fully stocked, spacious, too many amenities to mention. Only downside was that wifi was slow but spent most time outside and on the deck. And read description, no air conditioning so it was hot during the day but mornings and evenings were cool. Loved it and would recommend!

The home was very well prepared for our vacation and offered a perfect place for a few days of rest and relaxation. Rustic charm was evident across the entire property while still having plenty of modern conveniences. There is not central A/C in the home, but ample windows and fans make sure that you can stay comfortable regardless. The beds and other furniture were exceptionally comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped to handle our group. 100% recommend the location for anyone looking for a place that is quiet, yet centrally located in Ruidoso.

Our group was made up of family, some married, some single. That can present organizational issues, but the sleeping options are varied, so it was great!!

One of best cabins I've stayed in thus far. The location is amazing, there are plenty of amenities, and vibes were just right. It was great to see a lot wildlife roaming around. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you have a bigger family

Traveled over spring break from the upper Midwest to this place. Gorgeous views, wonderful weather, and a very comfy home. Hikes and swims within minutes, national parks/monuments within hours.

I would say we had an excellent stay, the only concern was the hand rail/ ballisters were not toddler friendly. Enjoyed our time and experience with Hummingbird Cabins!

We have used vacation rentals in our area multiple times over the years, and this time we had our 2nd 'Non' family, family reunion. All of our friends gathered for the weekend and the home was well appointed for our needs. We saw a review about being old and dirty and cannot understand why they would describe as such. Yes, there are some older and dated items in the home; ye, the log beams and brick may make some feel it s 'old' as modern or updated would not describe this property at all. The best part was the spacious rooms: living room upstairs off kitchen is where the older adults gathered. We put the younger crowd in lower living room with pool table (younger meaning under the age of 50 lol) downstairs. The kiddos and grand-babies in the bunkhouse. The home has so much character and the the construction using the refurbished beams and pins is not something you see regularly in Ruidoso or this part of the country.

We stayed 5 nights at the Big Sky Lodge offered by Humming Bird Cabins. It was fantastic. The view of the mountain from the hot tub was amazing. As good as the pictures of the house on the website were, the house looked even better in person. The staff at Hummingbird could not have been better. They were very polite and quick with their responses. The house was very clean upon arrival. 5 Stars!!!!!

We enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. Thank you for making your home our home for our stay. I must say it was awesome to pull up and see a Texas Tech flag hanging proudly. Our family is also big Texas Tech fans as well. My husband even took a pic with the flag. (We live in Lubbock TX the home of Tech) Once again a big Texas thank you! And GUNS UP!

My family and I really enjoyed staying at the Big Sky Lodge & Bunkhouse because it is very spacious, and it has ammenities that make it very fun such as the pool table and game room in the bunk house. While it is very fun and nice I think it needs to be fogged for insects as there were a few spiders that came out of the ceilings at night. Also, you need to read the rental agreement very carfully as it states some rules that are somewhat hard to follow if you plan to enjoy the cabin with 2 or 3 families because moving of furniture is a must in order to accomodate kids etc. We moved one couch, and we were charged a maintenance fee from our deposit. You also need to make sure you throw away the trash bags from your stay in a dumpster located somewhere around the neighborhood (which we didn’t find because we’re not from Ruidoso) but it does state on the rental agreement to call customer service so they can guide you to it. This was another fee removed from my deposit. The rest room doors don’t have locks so its hard to get personal time in there. Overall all the cabin is certainly very nice, and equiped to hold many friends or family members for a great time.

We stayed at Bear Bottoms for three weeks. It is a wonderful home in Alto and our family thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was a relaxing three weeks that flew by way to fast. We hope to come back and stay there again. Sitting on the back deck and watching the hummingbirds was one of our favorite daily activities. The game room was perfect for our children and their friends.

We had a great time, plenty of room and a great view. If I had to complaint it would be that the beds were very hard. My Aunt said the bed made her bones hurt and didn’t stay the whole time because of this and of course air conditioning in the afternoon would have been great. We really enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and all of the space…
