This rental was very clean and welcoming. We had a little bit of trouble with the AC. Luckily the fans and cool air helped. The contact was helpful and quick to answer questions. We really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this property to others.

The house was very clean and comfortable. All furniture was nice. Communication was great. We needed to check in a little earlier and making arrangements to do so was very easy. The neighborhood was peaceful. Over all would give 5 stars and stay again in the future.

This is a lovely home and will certainly consider renting it again. With that said, we were very uncomfortable due to the air not working upon our arrival and until the following evening around 5:00ish which made for very uncomfortable sleeping and being in the home, as it was 79 degrees inside the house. We originally thought it would just take time to cool off, but by the next day realized there was an issue. Called maintenance, and they were very friendly and arrived timely (about 1:15 on Friday) but said the previous renters or housekeepers had turned the air down too low and the unit was froze up. They asked that we keep it off for about 3hours, and after that it worked fine. We went out and about to find somewhere cool until we could turn the air back on

The cabin was nice and spacious for all my family. It was a two story, with a bedroom downstairs, with two queen beds and a private bathroom. Very sufficient space for my two teen grandkids. The stairs going down to that bedroom were a little steep. Nonetheless it gave us all a good workout going up and down those stairs, including our little doggies. Upstairs had two large bedrooms, both with bathrooms, again very sufficient space and very clean! The kitchen, dining and living room were open concept very spacious for all my family. There was a beautiful fireplace where we sat by in the living room, had a glass of wine and played family games. There was an outside deck on the upper floor, that was just wonderful. One evening my family and I were outside on the upper deck admiring the beautiful view and enjoying the fresh air, when at that time we all got to see a big bear passing. It was so exciting! Overall our stay was quite pleasant!

Cabin was large enough for 8 adults, although the two full size beds are more for teen or child. These beds were very short, but overall very clean and the kitchen was stocked with every appliance you could possible need. The coffee pot on the other hand, I would suggest cleaning staff really clean out the reservoir. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent it again!

We enjoyed staying at this property, it's a nice clean cabin tucked away in a friendly neighborhood. The boys enjoyed walking around and seeing the deer around the cabins and homes. The cabin itself had everything you could need readily available for your use! Very clean, friendly staff, it was pet friendly as well! Very nice getaway for the weekend away with family!

The only negative I have are the stairs. If we had been 10 years younger they would not have been a problem. If you have no mobility issues you will love this place. Very clean, well equipped, nicely decorated & very spacious.

We enjoyed Ruidoso, and we did get to see some wildlife near the property. This is an older property that is pretty nice. Online photos are accurate, but they depict a rural setting, and the property is in an urban neighborhood setting.

The lodge was such a wonderful place stay! It was a very quiet neighborhood and passing through wildlife was a nice surprise. The balcony was large and everyone enjoyed sitting out there visiting. It was a good distance from mid-town but that is what we were looking for. The lodge was clean and very comfortable for our family. We look forward to our next trip to the Lazy Moose Lodge!

The cabin was comfortable for our family if 5. All we anticipated. Great location and well equipped. The furnishings are a bit dated compared to photos but nothing extreme. We would happily return for another visit to Ruidoso. There was no snow on our trip but we enjoyed hiking and sight seeing nonetheless.

This cabin was very clean and decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations. Cabin felt very homey and had an amazing time. Would definitely recommend.  We looked around n we were so glad we picked this one it was perfect even deers stopped by for a visit made it extra special. I very highly recommend it and will stay again. The management company were great explained it all and great communication.5 stars

Plenty of sleeping space. A little outdated on the inside, but ultimately it was a nice cabin with a pretty view. Very quiet area, with lots of wild life viewing. Grill had plenty of propane with a great view while grilling.

“We loved this place, perfect for our family to spend Christmas. It was close to town and grocery store. The neighborhood was quiet and was perfect for Morning strolls. They provided dog bowls inside and outside for our dog and even had a doggy door to the fenced area outside. House was nice and toasty when we walked in from the cold and the couches are super comfy for lounging. We definitely would stay here again. Also they provided lots of kitchenware, so no need to bring much.”

The property is great! we enjoyed having 2 King beds. Our son and his wife took the taller of the beds and we were happy with the shorter of the beds, very comfortable. We also enjoyed having 3 full baths. the deck was great for viewing the Elk, Mule deer, and the Black bear. The neighbors were very nice also. This added up to a great vacation.

The cabin was perfect for the 6 of us. We enjoyed our stay. We had a minor problem when arriving as our Verizon telephones did not have reception and the WIFI at the cabin did not work. We had no TV reception and the heater blower would not turn off and blew cold air. We just went to bed as there were plenty of cover on the beds. About midnight the TV came on, we had telephone reception and the heater worked. We had no way to call the Manager since our phones did not work and the cabin telephone did not work. The rest of our stay was perfect.

We loved our stay. Lots of different wildlife to watch. Clean and well stocked with kitchenware. Beds were comfortable and nice linens. Showers had good water pressure and consistency in temperature. We did have one small issue with the outdoor grill but left a note for the follow up crew.

Our stay was absolutely delightful. The cabin was exactly as described and some even said it was better. We celebrated our Thanksgiving here and the kitchen was better than I expected. It had all the tools and equipment necessary to lay out a feast. The rooms were spacious and bathrooms for all. Check-in was easy and communication with the managers was seamless. Would love to be able to go back.

It was so nice. I'll go back. I just hope when I do the neighbors won't be under construction. Also, be aware that the lower floor entry door walks right into the bedroom with the two double beds. Not a big problem, but I didn't really want my young kids sleeping that close to an entry door. We were able to switch up sleeping arrangements and all was well.

The Lazy Moose lodge was perfect for our three families! We had 6 adults, two toddlers and a 4 month old! The three bedroom/three bath set up was exactly what we needed. I will say the third bedroom setup was a little odd, the one with the two beds, it’s immediately what you walk into when opening the front door. Although there is another door upstairs you can leave through, so this wasn’t horrible, just not expected. There was also white carpet, and when we arrived it had been raining and we were all muddy, so we grabbed a tarp and threw it down to be considerate! We did bring our dogs along, and although they are pet friendly, the gated area for dogs is not secure. There were fence posts busted, and the gate itself was completely removable, it was just sitting up against the fence. And it’s short, so if you have big dogs/dogs that jump, be careful. And there is no immediate access from the house, you have to leash your dogs up and walk them over to the gated area if you want to use that. We leashed our dogs each time because we saw Elk and Deer!! (They were beautiful!) but my dogs would chase them if given a chance, so to be safe, they were always leashed. Again, this set up wasn’t awful, just wanting future renters to be aware. I also have to say, this place was spotless! It was so clean and immaculate, so hands down to the cleaning crew! The couch is also amazing and we all want to buy one from wherever it was purchased from! Overall, this place is perfect for multiple families. It’s more like a 4.7 rating really, just not necessarily the best for dogs if you’re expecting direct outside gated access for them. This review is from TripAdvisor

This was the perfect cabin!! It is very clean and so spacious. The king beds were great with very soft sheets. The towels were nice and thick. Plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff at Hummingbird Cabins always takes exceptional care of us. The Lazy Moose Lodge is a great cabin for large families because it has two master bedrooms a large 3rd bedroom and three full bathrooms. It has recently been updated with new paint inside and out, new furniture etc. it’s a great place to get away Especially if you like to take your pet with you!!

Our stay was lovely! The cabin was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, it felt like home. The amenities were excellent and generous, the space more than accommodated our 10 person group. We all enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to return again! We even got to watch (and touch!) a herd of deer right in the front yard. We hope the host will invite us again, we loved it at The Lazy Moose Lodge! Thank you!

We own The Lazy Moose Lodge and have been working closely with Hummingbird Cabins to completely update our cabin. While we live out of town management has been wonderful in accommodating our requests for help. We have painted the entire home, added new TV's, a new couch and all new bedspreads and bathroom items. In a few weeks the entire outside will get a new face lift. Management is always easy to contact and get help for us since we cannot be there. They have done a majority of the work for us with no hassle.

We just left our second stay in a Hummingbird Cabin and loved it. Both times we've had deer come right up to our front door which was an awesome experience for our little girl. Our stay at the Lazy Moose Lodge was great, the cabin was clean and it had everything we needed. Close enough to town, but far enough to still feel like you're in the woods. We had an issue with an empty propane tank which was taken care of right away! Can't wait to book our next stay with the wonderful Hummingbird Cabins.

We stayed at the Lazy Moose Lodge on our yearly “Ladies Getaway” and we loved it. It is a beautiful home and the location is so nice too. We had enough room for all of us. I would come back. I do agree with someone that commented earlier (Allie) about how we are charged for throwing out trash or leaving dirty dishes. Mind you, we have never left a dirty home in all the years we have to Ruidoso. We don’t believe we need to leave the place dirty. But we are constantly reminded by notes left how we “have” to wash all towels except the last days use. We do pay a cleaning fee so we figure it should cover normal cleaning. I understand if you are left with filth then of course you should charge an extra fee. And the only thing I kinda have a complaint about is the fact that if we want to check in earlier than 4 o:clock we have to pay an extra fee. All the other places I have booked from the past years have always allowed us to go in as long as it wasn’t rented the day before. Of course if they checked out the day we check in then it is understandable to wait. We travel 4 hours to get there and have to wait before we can start enjoying Ruidoso. That alone would be the only thing that may keep me from booking through Hummingbird Cabins. But you have friendly office employees when I would call and like I said the home is beautiful. I would recommend it to everyone.

We stayed at Lazy Moose Lodge the last week of July 2015. The cabin was clean and well equipted. There are beds to sleep eight campers, not counting the couches but only six chairs at the dining table and no stools or other accomodations so we could not all sit together at a meal. The deck was spacious and deer came up every night which was thrilling but little difficult to sit and enjoy when there was not enough chairs on the deck either and the table was only large enough for four, not the eight of us. Of the two beds downstairs, one was a full size and the other was a fouton with only a foam pad and cardboard serving as a mattress. Would like to have known that before we rented the property as it was uncomfortable for the family that needed to bed down there! Probably wont take our group here again.

We have really enjoyed every Hummingbird cabin we have stayed at, but the Lazy Moose Lodge was the best one yet! We were able stay comfortably, with all the amenities & we were able to feed the deer. The neighborhood was very quiet and the location could not have been better for us. We will definitely be back!
