Our family had a wonderful stay at this house. The check in and check out process was very simple. Everything met our expectations. Could the house stand some upgrades? Sure. The beds were quite hard and the deck could use some work. None of these things are remotely a deal breaker for us nor do they detract from my rating. We also had a bit of a run in with a bear that decided to check out the grill. The property folks were very understanding and quick to respond. Overall, we had a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend as well as rent from them again!

The property is in a nice quiet area, deer and horses visit often…the house needs some exterior cleaning but is very good location for easy access to Ruidoso or surrounding area. I would suggest replacing carpet and some touch ups on the interior. We enjoyed our stay!

Really enjoyed the overall coziness of the living room, but spent most of the time on deck area enjoying the views! We were lucky to have perfect weather during our stay. My only criticism would be stained carpets upstairs. Overall our experience at the cabin was great!

This property was just what we needed for a girls weekend. Coffee on the patio in the morning was the perfect way to start our day. The cabin was the perfect size where we can all cook dinner and still have time to yourself. Its clean and spacious and the hot tub is a great way to wind down. I would recommend this for time with family or friends

The house is very beautiful. Our trip was primarily to just relax. We enjoyed sitting on the deck. The upstairs is warm, but with opening the sliding glass doors, it was comfortable. The host was quick to respond when we needed them. The neighbors across the street are very friendly. We definitely plan on returning.

Red House is the perfect location. Keep the cabin mindset and don't expect perfection. Just enjoy the pines, the hot tub, the solitude, the deer the turkey and the mountain. If you must have new appliances and a pristine air conditioning system go stay at the Hilton. --also you will need to not be picky when it comes to mattresses. Again this is a cabin. We loved it; fancy people may want something newer.

You will really enjoy this cabin, sitting on the porch with coffee watching the humming birds and listening to the trees in the wind. We had a great time it’s quiet but also very close to great places to eat and downtown shopping.

This cabin is beautiful! It's location is amazing, and neighbors are close but the cabin feels secluded. We stayed with friends for a couples getaway and this cabin really provided. We enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful views for the deck. This will definitely be a cabin we hope to rent in the future.

We found this rental to be a comfortable location to explore the Ruidoso area. It was up a steep windy road that was both close and away from town. Fairly private with only a couple of neighbors barely visible from the porch. Not much of a view, but really nice in the woods including looking out from the hot tub. Lots of wildlife including deer, elk, and we filled the hummingbird feeder so they were buzzing everywhere. As we arrived, we were greeted by two deer - one of which actually came right up to us and let us pet it's head. We found an awesome hike just a few miles away at the Perk Canyon Trailhead - a windy hike up a canyon along a stream with endless trees, wildflowers, deer, ... It was a bit longer than we expected, but the whole hike was just gorgeous. We also explored Grindstone Lake, Alto Lake, and went up the long and amazingly scenic road to the Ski slope. Just awesome hiking in the woods and mountains. And, our visit to the Enchanted Vine Winery (not the bar downtown, but the actual winery) was so much fun. Take a tour if you like wine! Cool place. On the downside, the town seems really depressed economically. The entire town closes up at about 5 pm including almost ALL of the restaurants. Almost NO PLACE is open for dinner, and the few open were crowded and the staff was less than nice. Half the stores were simply closed midweek. And, lots of stores seemed permanently closed and/or hiring so they were closed because they had no staff. A truly beautiful place 'outdoors' with a tourist town that is clearly having issues. One store you should totally check out is Rebecca's Herb Shop - really neat place with jars and jars of spices, teas, herbal remedies, ... Otherwise, the house itself does need some updating or we'd have given it 5 stars instead of 4 stars. They especially need to get a new electronic door lock that we just couldn't get to work (maybe it just needs a new battery, but we've used tons of electronic door locks and just couldn't get this one to open without trying ten times), the windows upstairs that may have a view couldn't be seen through, and the place could use some updating in the kitchen for sure. Such a nice house that just misses the mark a little on some things that could easily be upgraded to make it perfect. Even with those few things, we found the place to be very comfortable and enjoyed our stay a lot. We would recommend staying at this vacation rental and may come again if we ever head that direction...!

My lovely girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Alhambra cabin. Great place in the upper mountain area. Secluded and quiet with neighbors but no one on top of you, plenty of privacy. The place is better than the pictures. Great layout for bigger groups and plenty of sleeping space. The hot tub was lovely, especially while it was snowing.

This house was a great place to stay - close to downtown Ruidoso, but remote enough to be super quiet and private. The covered deck was perfect for when it rained, the hot tub was just the thing after hiking, and the people at Hummingbird Cabins were amazing! We had a few questions (and one problem of our own making) - and they were available and incredibly helpful, taking care of things right away. I can't thank them enough for their help! We were nervous about renting a place that hadn't been rated, but we loved it. One note for winter visitors - the road is gravel and curvy/steep in parts - you'll probably want 4wd or have some good snow/ice driving skills. :)

Hot tub bubbles didn't work, called maintenance and they sent over someone from a local service. Service man said “ look they don't want to sink anymore money into this so your kinda stuck”... struck me as odd but it was okay...no sharp knives for preparing meals... and a dish drainer would have been helpful when doing dishes for 6 people, and beds are really hard.... but other than these small things everything else was PERFECT!

I traveled all the way from Oregon for a weekend getaway with my spouse. The property listing does not do the physical property justice. My expectations for ease of booking and check-in, physical condition of the property, location, and overall stay were greatly exceeded. The decor and furniture in the home provide a very welcoming rustic cabin feel with modern amenities, the hot tub is in good condition and works well, the kitchen is large and has plenty of counter space for feeding and entertaining all guests, the WiFi worked perfectly and was easily accessible, there are plenty of bathrooms to accommodate all guests and extra bedding for added guest comfort. Checking out was also very simple and painless. We were also fortunate enough to be graced by some of the local wildlife at our front door on our first morning there, they are so comfortable with visitors that you are able to get up close to them. The only negative part of my experience was having to leave. I wish we could have stayed a few more days to enjoy to peace and tranquility. I will definitely be booking this property again in the future when I am visiting Ruidoso.
