Loved this property. Great fenced in backyard for our dogs. Close to town but still had great Mountain View's. Hot tub was ready when we arrived. Beds were very comfortable. I would definitely rent here again.

I cannot speak highly enough of this cabin. We've stayed at several properties in Ruidoso, and this has been by far the cleanest, most spacious, and most well-stocked. The views of the forest were stunning, and the place was the perfect balance of secluded and close to town. We very much enjoyed the privacy of the hot tub and deck and were glad to see a variety of games available for us to play in the evening (we also left a chess set there for others to enjoy). We will visit Ruidoso again, and we will only stay at this property from now on. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of this place!

The house is comfortable and the deck with the hot tub is cool in the warmer parts of the day. We did not use the hot tub or cook meals so don't have comments about the kitchen utensils. We enjoyed the stay and will try to book it again if we return to Ruidoso.

Nice smaller cabin. Good forest view off the back. Only neighbor is to one side. Bed was comfortable so that is a bonus. Hot tub was pre-warmed and clean. The yard is very steep downhill. So much so it's not a place for small children to play in.

We loved River Ridge Retreat! Fabulous Cabin with a beautiful view from the top of the ridge, fully fenced in yard, and perfect hot tub to end the day! Very clean, perfect size for a family of 4 (and dogs too), additional sunroom is a delight. Close to everything in Ruidoso with great TV/internet at Cabin, yet feel like you're in the woods. Had a great spring break with both sun and snow. (High winds one night snapped front board off wooden gate and management company responsive to call as well.) Would definitely stay again. Thank You!

Great cabin! Great decorating, beautiful view! We relaxed daily in the hot tub & watched the day & night sky and the birds/stars. Having a fully fenced in back yard was great! Such a peace of mind for our pup to be safe! The garden in the back is so pretty too!

This cabin has a great location with views of the pine trees and mountains. Good for bird photography and we saw a couple elk and mule deer during our 3 night stay. We thought the back stairs were a bit tricky with no landing at the back door. Had cute rustic decor and beds were good. Overall we really liked it and would book again.

This cabin in the woods had everything we needed for the 4 days we were there. It was clean and up to date. It had all the utensils, pots pans and cups and glasses that we would have needed. I can't think of one thing that we needed that wasn't in the cabin. We saw plenty of deer and Elk near by. We would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our holiday stay at the Rustic Grizzly cabin. The cabin is cozy, clean and relaxing. During a snow shower we stayed warm near the fireplace. We enjoyed playing in the snow with snow shoes and snow sliders provided with the cabin. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and cooking utensils making it easy to cook our meals and bake cookies! The rustic cabin is surrounded by towering pine trees and it's location was minutes from hiking trails, restaurants, a grocery store, and shopping stores near the town center. We highly recommend staying at the Rustic Grizzly cabin and we would love to stay again in the near future.

Easy to get to just a few minutes from the main road. Amazing view and you can hear the water from the creek on the back patio. The house was very clean. Hot tub had a bit of dirt, dead bugs, gunk in it but easy to scoop out before we got in. We will sure stay here again.

Get Away Stay
We really enjoyed the view, peaceful mornings & afternoons, the hot tub, distance to nearby attractions. Our stay was very relaxing so we really appreciated the hot tub at the end of the day. The supplied kitchen came in handy for a nice breakfast too! Everything was nice and clean.

The stay at the cabin was great and fun. Our car had broken down when we went for a visit so we stayed at the cabin for most of our trip but it was a great time being able to relax in the hot tub at night and enjoying the sounds of nature.

Great Cabin! Secluded enough, good for a couple/parent getaway.
I've rented from Hummingbird cabins for about 6 years now, once or twice a year. Always good for a couple or family. The old cabin "Elk Meadows" we used to rent wasn't available anymore which is sad so we found this one. We needed to get away from Albuquerque, work, school and the kids. This cabin is super nice and has everything you need. We grilled both nights and spent both our nights in the upper deck/sunroom and back lower deck watching the birds. We saw a few dear and elk when driving through the neighborhood and taking a walk through the neighborhood as well. The grill and patio setup is nice with the hot tub. Lots of trees around and good bird watching. The first night were were up having some drinks on the deck and my wife heard something in the front. We went to look and two black bears were out about 11pm going through the dumpster across the street!!! One was 0rwtty big for a black bear and other was medium sized. I thought it was really cool actually, my wife got scared, but there is a lot of wildlife in Ruidoso. They didnt want anything to do with us, they just wanted the trash, they saw us with our flashlights on them and didn't care. They moved on down the street. One is the local residents a few houses down stopped the next morning when I was outside and seemed to want to blame the trash on us, but we hadn't thrown any trash until the next morning, so that was annoying. When I tossed our trash I cleqnes up some of the mess the bears made but I didn't want to spend my last day cleaning up stuff. Don't leave trash outside though because the next night we forgot a bag on the deck after bbqing and a raccoon got into it. Overall such a relaxing stay, the inside is very nice too but mostly enjoyed the view from the back. We recommended in the housekeeper card that they maybe add one more frying pan, medium size to the kitchen set and a grill brush because I tried to clean the grill before we left and couldn't do a good job with paper towels. Thank you so much Hummingbird cabins. We'll be back in Sept with the family to try another cabin!

We enjoyed out stay. Cabin was clean, everything was functuional. the only minor issue we found was that we found empty water bottles and beer bottles around the property. We picked up several of the empty plastic water bottles, but we did not find or pick up all of them. Also in the living room, the coffee table had one of the castors broken off. We found this when we attempted to move the table, one of the castors came off. It appears that at some point, it was broken, and someone simply placed it back in place (without actually repairing it) and that would be fine until someone actually moved the table. Aside from those minor issues, it was a really nice stay.

We loved this cabin! The sun room was so beautiful to see the amazing views, eat meals in, and read or take naps on the futon. We are a couple in our thirties with 3 small kids (7, 5 and 1) and it was perfect for us. We will definitely be back to this cabin soon. It was on the highest point in a really cute neighborhood with an amazing view! The washer and dryer was very convenient and the backyard was great for the kids. It was extremely clean besides under the couch cushions (easily missed when cleaning)...we were looking to see if the couch pulled out. Other than that, it was 100% perfection!

We were two couples and we loved the location. The cabin has a spectacular view, is beautifully decorated in a way that makes you feel comfortable and that fits with the locale. We spent a lot of time on the dining porch looking out over the valley, and also enjoyed using the hot-tub on the deck a lot. The things keeping this from being a 5-star review are the beds and a few little details. Both beds were not at all comfortable and the master bed sunk in the middle. They were also very noisy rubbing on the bedframe so when you moved at all, even to roll over, it squeaked a lot. Not pleasant at all. There were also little details, like no handsoap or soap dish in the bathroom, nothing to wash dishes with but an old sponge, and non-microwavable dishes which limits quick meal prep. Fix the details and this cabin would be perfect!

The main light in the room on the left turned on and off on it's own a few times. I thought there was going to be a coffee maker with some K cups but there it turned out to be a regular coffee maker with filters, sugar, creamer, but no coffee. Not a big deal, we ran to the store but it would have been nice to know in advance.

Overall great place and had a good trip. The house has a very decent view of the surrounding forest and mtns from the back. Feels private as neighbors are not too close. Location is very close to main drag in town...you can 'almost' walk straight from the back porch but one neighbor below fenced off the direct trail route. Fully stocked with all of the bedding and towels you need. Plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking. Bring your own coffee, food, and drinks. Grill and hot tub work great. But a word of caution to anyone over 6' tall...the deck out back has a low ceiling with even lower crossbeams (minus 1 star for no warning). I'm 6'2" and hit my head a dozen times rushing around. This was frustrating since the deck is the best place to be, but not being able to stand or walk comfortably ruins it. House was comfy and clean. Nice couches. Bed very soft. Heat works. Shower fine. Sunroom very nice. Could not get fireplace to work. Creaky floors might wake a light sleeper but not an issue for me. TV has Netflix, etc. Audio system a little finicky but works. Turn on your program, turn off the audio Receiver, turn rec back on and TV audio will come thru the big speakers. WiFi good. Cleaning fee seems pretty high - over $100. Not a bad place.
