Slice of Heaven strikes the perfect balance between proximity to town and the privacy you desire for your family getaway. If you have teenagers or multiple parties in your group, the newly renovated Mother-in-Law suite offers additional space, complete with a full-size wood-burning fireplace (firewood is NOT provided), stove, and bathroom—ensuring everyone has their own retreat.
Conveniently located just a seven-minute drive from a dog park, kids' playground, and a three-mile paved walking path, you’ll have plenty of outdoor activities at your fingertips. Plus, for those looking to pamper their furry friends, a dog store is only six minutes away, where you can find keepsakes and delicious treats.

Ruidoso, Alto, and surrounding areas: Submerse yourself within the towering pines of Lincoln County and watch local wildlife such as elk, deer, wild horses, turkey, birds, and more in their natural habitats. Plan a day basking in the stillness of our national forest while hiking, biking, or fishing, golfing at one of our multiple golf courses or spend a fun night out on the town at one of the area’s local attractions! Be sure to swim or fish at the beautiful Grindstone or Alto Lake, delight your senses at Winter Park with roller coaster and tubing, and explore the ski slopes and hiking trails throughout Ski Apache. Win big at one of our three local casinos and enjoy the excitement of live quarter horse racing at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack. Be happy you took a respite from the concrete jungle. The fine print, what to expect: Our cabins include basic cable, satellite or streaming television, basic cooking utensils, propane gas grill (propane provided), washer and dryer (if applicable- please look at the amenities), towels and bed linens for guest use along with heating for winter. Our homes come equipped with either a drip or Keurig coffee maker. *Linens and bath towels *Extra blankets and bedding *Spa towels for properties with spas/hot tubs. While our kitchens are fully equipped with glassware/cookware/utensils/dishes, etc. this does not ensure that all homes will have a blender, crock pot, spices, coffee, or condiments. Please call ahead to confirm if items such as these are available. If not, we ask that you bring your own. Basic toiletries in the Master bathroom only are: *One (1) travel-sized each of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, and facial bar soap, *three (3) rolls of toilet paper; one (1) on the holder and two (2) stored in the bathroom. Basic toiletries in all additional bathrooms (if applicable) are: *three (3) rolls of toilet paper; one (1) on the holder and two (2) stored in the bathroom, *one (1) travel-sized bar soap and/or facial soap, *one (1) hairdryer in the home. Basic supplies in the home: *five (5) All-Clear laundry pods, *dish detergent in pod or liquid form (quantities may vary and/or be limited), and three (3) Lemi Shine rinse agent in single-use cups (for homes with dishwashers), *liquid dish soap in (at minimum) a partial container (may only be in homes without dishwashers- check amenities to ensure the home you booked has a dishwasher), *two to three (2-3) rolls of paper towels, *two (2) trash liners in each waste basket; one (1) prepared in a basket and at least one (1) in the bottom or under the sink. We encourage guests to please be mindful of the supplies we provide and always bring extras as housekeeping does not deliver more than what is required to be left in the homes. We highly encourage guests to be prepared with access to chains and/or 4-wheel drive in winter months. Firewood is not provided for homes with wood burning fireplaces.

By Lacey, Posted: 07/17/2024We had an amazing time! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and close to everything we needed! The only advice I would have woulf be instructions on how to operate the swamp cooler. Once we got it going, it kept the entire cabin very cool!

By John, Posted: 09/29/2023We really enjoyed our at Slice of Heaven. The property is clean and well maintained and in a quiet neighborhood. The doggie for was a big plus and it allowed our dogs to go outside as needed, just like at home. Overall, the stay was excellent and we recommend Slice of Heaven to anyone visiting the Ruidoso area.

The vintage trailer with the cutest living space was perfect for her. The bedrooms were very roomy and had more than enough space for the 9 of us. My favorite part of all was the doggy door! What a fantastic surprise for my boys since they are used to one at home. It was perfect and definitely will stay here again!

One of the only homes in the area with a fenced in yard, that made it pet friendly. Also included a grill and fire pit. The only bummer is that there was no sand for the shuffle board table so it made it impossible to play. I would highly recommend this place for a large group to enjoy Ruidoso. Thanks!

By Dayna, Posted: 06/29/2023Got there during a heatwave, and maint guy was there 1st thing next morning to get a/c going. Even went back and returned to replace non-working coffe pot! Super fun stay. Would def rent again! Really pretty home. Nicely decorated and everything you need. Great place.

The shuffle board table was fun. Fenced in yard for our dog, but it was a little too cold for our 7 pound chihuahua to be outside much. Always love our visits to Ruidoso!

Knowing this was going to be the home we'd come back to after skiing was very calming, since it felt warm and welcoming. Each room was perfect and all of us had the amenities we needed. It felt safe too at night, the doors locked very well and had no problem exiting/entering.
