Our family stayed at the hummingbird cottage for our thanksgiving vacation. We all had a great time. The cottage is well located, close to everything. The kitchen was sufficient for our thanksgiving meal. We will return to stay in the future.

Met my father and his wife here for a break from the Texas heat. We had a lovely time here at the cabin. We saw wild life, cooked some great steaks on the grill and enjoyed the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable! The place was clean and exactly as advertised. It was more in a neighborhood than I expected, but the neighborhood was pretty and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would come back !

The property was perfect for our family! Very clean and spacious. The deck had a gate that we were able to let our dog roam around while we had our coffee. Kitchen had everything we needed. Everyone had a great time relaxing in the tub or watching from a large variety of tv apps. Was close to beautiful Alto lake and not far from shopping in town.

The reservation process, check in, customer service was all easy to use, staff were friendly and helpful. The cabin was neat and clean and had all the necessary amenities we needed. The property was pretty, quit and pleasant. The location was a bit difficult to find due to the winding and hilly roads of Ruidoso. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to others.

Our stay at the Hummingbird Cabins was great! Fully stocked kitchen for cooking needs, heated bathroom, washer and dryer, awesome fireplace, and hot tub in a good location on patio deck. Host was responsive and let us check in early. Very peaceful environment in a residential neighborhood close to the main road. Would stay again for sure!

Hummingbird cabins lived up to its name and more. We took our senior dog there because of the 4th of July fireworks we wanted peace and quiet and that's exactly what we got. My husband saw a huge buck and I saw a doe just a hundred feet from me. We enjoyed the cabin immensely so relaxing. The kitchen had more things that I have in my own kitchen at home. Love the jacuzzi and the grilling on the deck. But most of all my senior dog enjoyed himself. We will come back again. We had no idea what we were missing.

Pet friendly cabin on a nice street close to shopping, restaurants and a few hiking trails. Views are limited, but enjoyed the wildlife while drinking coffee on the patio.

The cabin was very comfortable and well appointed. Wildlife was abundant in the neighborhood including a small bull elk who grazed around the deck for almost an hour. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly with nearby hiking and biking trails.

It was great to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax. No where to be at any time. We slept in, enjoyed yummy food, and relaxed in the hot tub. We will definitely be returning. We had a great time!

The stay was perfect. We enjoyed the cabin very much. Easy access to everything Ruidoso has to offer made this cabin a great stay. Deer and Elk surrounded the property daily and we absolutely loved being so close to nature. Star gazing was fun right outside the cabin and the neighbors were very friendly. Just around the corner I discovered a hiking trail that led to more trails- all within a block of the cabin! We will book here again and suggest anyone reading this does too! Cheers!

We really enjoyed our stay. The patio was fabulous as well as the jacuzzi. We saw lots of deer and even a bear. The cabin was wonderful however there was an issue with the microwave being broken and a ceiling fan not working. However, that did not keep us from having a wonderful time and enjoying the area.

Dishes werent cleaned upon arrival, and there was a sugar ant problem in the kitchen. I had to keep all my food in the fridge or microwave. But other then that, the cabin was AMAIZING AND PERFECT. just what my family needed. I wish I could have stayed for ever.

Our family of four including teen and pre teen enjoyed our stay. We loved getting close to the deer and having an elk come up to the porch. The hot tub was a great way to end each night. The cabin was clean and had what we needed in the kitchen. We would definitely come back.

Enjoyed our stay, house was as expected...described well in your description. A couple of suggestions....during winter season please note that if the weather includes snow or ice you will need a 4 -wheel drive or chains to help driving back down hill to Mecham from the house. Luckily, even though we had snow dusting during our visit, it did not freeze, but had it we would have been totally unprepared with our car. Also, you should have instructions on how to operate the TV.... note that regular (or live) TV is not included. Also please include instructions for the heater.....the old floor heater & thermostats do not work and it is confusing as to why they are still there without instructions. Please note that the heat & air conditioning is located above door in breakfast room area and that is the only unit in the house. Also mention that there is no fenced in area for pets.

Just a wonderful place all around. It was secluded and peaceful and the deer just added to the tranquility. We were close enough to everything that it was a quick drive. It's so beautiful. The only drawback is that you, the guest, must clean the cabin yourself--everything but sterilizing the bathroom and washing the sheets! Otherwise, you will be charged $92 a day to clean it and lose your $200 deposit. Plus, we left the "housekeeping" crew a big tip. Wow. Beyond that, it's absolutely gorgeous!

We stayed in the Hummingbird Cabin. This cabin is located at the top of a mountain. The views are pretty but during the winter I would never recommend this place. The roads are not maintained. There was record breaking snow and we were snowed in, even with 4 wheel drive. Never once did management check on us or send someone to clear the road and driveway. I called once but they didn't care. They were only concerned that our check out was 3 days out so what's the big deal. If I can I will dispute part of our stay do to the fact they did NOT take care of the drive for us. We have never stayed anywhere and had such bad unconcerned service. .

Our family had a totally relaxing time at Hummingbird Cabin. Our homebody children all wanted to stay longer. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes and utensils for cooking our meals and the convenient hot tub was a hit.The only downside was the really squeaky bed in the master bedroom. Thank you for a great place to bring our family.

We and another couple spent 4 nights in The Hummingbird over Labor Day 2012 and had a great stay. Three bedrooms: One king, one queen, and one with two twins and two hall entry full baths. Large living/dining/kitchen with all kitchen necessities provided, plenty of towels, decent sheets, extra sheets and blankets, comfortable beds. Clean and uncluttered with tile floors throughout. Window air in the living/kitchen area but open windows in the bedrooms were enough to cool us off at night. Didn't use the hottub but did use the porch each morning for coffee with the many deer that drop by along with the humming birds. Quiet, quiet, quiet and dark enough to sleep great at night. Definitely off the beaten path but worth the winding route up the hill. In a neighborhood but secluded with a "in the woods" feeling. Plenty of room for a third couple - maybe a 4th if the sofa makes a bed but not sure of that.
