Everything was wonderful and look forward to our return next year. The home is absolutely gorgeous and already talked about renting again for next Christmas. Overall, WE LOVED THE HOUSE!!! We had the most wonderful surprise the morning we left with a large group of wild horses breaking the water at the small pond out front and drinking. I have a few pictures of it I am going to share. Thank you for a wonderful place for us to have our family Christmas.

A beautiful home with a beautiful breathtaking scenery. It was even more beautiful than the pictures we saw!! The hosts were quick to respond and made everything so easy. Definitely planning on coming back

My family stayed there for a weekend and I had children travelling from various towns and the driveway was large enough for all 5 vehicles. The location of the house is surrounded by land without close neighbors and is very peaceful. We spent alot of time sitting on the front porch relaxing and playing ping pong and pool in the separate garage. We were there during October so they house stayed cool without A/C. The kitchen is very nice and open with plenty of seating so everyone can visit while cooking or eating. I had a couple of questions when we were checking in and the Hummingbird staff responded immediately. We would definitely stay there again.

We had an amazing weekend staying here. We played 3 rounds of golf and all courses were within 5 to 10 minutes from home. Super convenient location and had all the amenities that we were hoping for

Beautiful Cabin with plenty of room. The only drawback was not having air conditioning, we were there in June, and it was very hot. Leaving the windows open at night helps, but it was still warm.

When we arrived, the cabin was clean and home was exactly as described. We loved the layout, the hot tub, and the porch sitting area. It is a perfect vacation home! We had a great time!

It was great to have my family together at a beautiful location! All my grandchildren enjoyed their time at the snow park, but they especially loved the cabin with the game room and hot tub. No one wanted to leave. We decided to make this a yearly reunion for our family! Loved the place, it was comfy with plenty of room for all!

Fantastic Getaway
This is our 2nd time to stay at this house. The home is well equipped and is perfect in every way. We were blessed with six wild horses running on the property during our stay. We had elk, mule deer, huge Jack rabbits and hummingbirds. The hummingbird would perch on top of the flag pole to watch his territory. If your family is looking for the very best vrbo, pick this house. We can’t wait to come back.

The Falling Water Retreat is a beautiful, clean, spacious cabin on an absolutely gorgeous property. The front porch provides a serene place to sit and enjoy abundant wildlife, variety of birds, as well as the sound of the waterfall that flows into the little pond near the porch. Our three night stay was a bit of a splurge but I chose Falling Water Retreat specifically for the amenities our family could enjoy together. Unfortunately the pool table was so unlevel it was impossible to play a game of pool and the fireplace only worked sporadically. The Hummingbird Cabins staff was very responsive when we called because the cabin was cold due to the heater not working. Unfortunately the cabin got very cold at night even after maintenance came out to look at the heating system.

Great place to relax & unwind! House was very spacious for 8 ppl. Porch was an awesome place to relax & see the deers. I loved sitting on the porch watching the sunrise with coffee. Location is great to be away from the busyness but also is a short drive to shopping & enjoying Ruidoso. Will hopefully be back soon! Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Our out of town guests got a wonderful taste of enchantment at this cabin. It was the perfect space with just the right amount of amenities! Our one complaint would be the game room— we were expecting to open the garage doors to this space for a dinner and game night. Unfortunately the doors were chained up due to previous guests so we weren't able to utilize.

Best Vacation Ever
Friends, We just had an incredible vacation rental in Alto, New Mexico which is just outside of Ruidoso. Here’s the link in case anyone wants the very best get away in a time where your not getting alot of hugs, this house will give you the best hug! We experience it’s spectacular mountain views, abundant wildlife of elk, mule deer and wild horses. We had 8” of snow during our stay. I tell you we experienced three season’s, summer, fall and winter while we were there. We were blessed with the first snow fall of the season. The house is exquisitely decorated, super comfortable, great hot tub, game room, and an awesome kitchen for cooking. The property has a pond with coyfish and a beautiful waterfall. This property has everything. I’m thankful for the time we spent with two friends . We had the best laughs and found the mountains magical. We took drives in the mountains and otherwise just stayed at home for 7 days. It was the best get away. Treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself people...visit here. Our trip here was exactly what we wanted and needed. The property is beautiful and very clean. They had everything we needed and it was just amazing. It was able to hold all 11 of us comfortably. We were able to watch all of the animals and relax. I will definitely be coming back! It was great for my family!

The 4 of us stayed and it was exactly what we thought it would be! Beautiful place with Elk roaming the property, the house was clean and spacious and the location was convenient. Only downfall was there being no A/C, as it got a little warm even with windows open and fans on. I give It 5 stars! Property managers are very easy to work with and answer questions quickly. We will come back!

Excellent prop and lovely location. Perfect amenity! Loved the game room, hot tub, small reflection pond, big porch with swing and chairs and huge back outside table for a big crew to enjoy moments together! Bring your own paper products, trash bags and soap products - it's not a hotel. The water is hard and the dishwasher does an awful job. We just hand-washed all dishes and hand-dried.

The property sits on an area isolated from neighbors and automobile traffic, though close enough to major roadway and access to various shops and restaurants. All attractions or activities just minutes away (Grindstone stables, Inn of the Mountain Gods). We enjoyed just staying at the cabin, too. Made use of the pool table and ping pong table in the separate garage. In AWE from the moment we drove the 100 or so yards up the driveway towards the cabin, saw the koi pond, greeted by the inviting porch, then opened the door into the foyer/ staircase. Our family with 11 had plenty of space for ourselves...from sisters' family of 5 with own basement room/attached bedroom w/2 twin beds and for the newlywed nephew the large master bedroom w/sitting room and Jacuzzi tub bathroom. Large kitchen had everything-nearly every appliance you can think of; from deep fryer, waffle maker, blender, even choice of coffee pods or drip. Plenty of plush towels (for the hot tub) and blankets (to cuddle outside to see the stars). Enjoyed the sound of the waterfall in the morning/evening and watching the elks and deer feeding on the property! Hint about using the gas grill; use the dining room window to pass your items...We will definitely stay again!!(didn't want to leave).

We have rented several houses over the years and this one was one of our favorites due to the fact we weren’t squeezed in so tight with other properties. Our family really enjoyed this house and area. We did bring extra fans and I am glad we did. Even with our bedroom windows open the bedrooms were stuffy and warm. Thank goodness the afternoons were pleasant temperatures. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

This place was the perfect size & location for our family! We thoroughly enjoyed it. We initially had a problem that was addressed immediately by the owner! Highly recommend but bring extra wash cloths as they were in short supply & check the expected temperatures as there is no air conditioning.

We try to go to Ruidoso twice a year once in the summer and one in the winter. Each time in the past we pick different cabins to stay in and we have now decided that this will be our go to cabin from now on. This place was awesome. Plenty of room, super clean and the waterfall was so pretty. Will be staying here from now on.
