Great cabin and great location. Bedrooms were a good size, and sheets were soft. Heater was great, hot water was good, and we loved the real fireplace. We found a big trash can of wood for $35 in town. Don't go to local hardware for it.

From the moment we stepped into Ruidoso Cabin, we knew we had found a true gem. Nestled amidst the serene beauty of the Ruidoso Mountains, this charming cabin offered a tranquil retreat that was both rustic and inviting. The cabin's location was ideal, just a short drive from the bustling town center yet secluded enough to provide a sense of peace and privacy. Surrounded by towering pines and the calming sounds of nature, we felt instantly at ease, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Inside, the cabin was impeccably clean and well-maintained, with a cozy ambiance that exuded warmth and comfort. The décor was tasteful and rustic, perfectly complementing the cabin's natural surroundings. We particularly loved the large windows that allowed us to soak in the stunning mountain views while enjoying the warmth of the fireplace. Our stay at Ruidoso Cabin was nothing short of exceptional. We loved how classic it was with the wooden cabin feel. The neighbors dog was a little loud with the barking, and we had a cat come and beg for a couple of nights. He eventually wandered off by the last day. Other than that, very clean and comfortable. There aren't full doors on the bedrooms (more saloon-style) which wasn't a problem for us because we were alone. But FYI for those coming with other people. Very easy check-in and out! It was a wonderful getaway!

We absolutely loved every thing about Happy Bears cabin! My husband has mobility issues and even the three or 4 steps leading down to the front of the cabin were very difficult for him. If there had been a good, sturdy step/stair rail he would have had no problem.

Nice cabin in a good location, perfect for a weekend getaway. Was disappointed that fenced in area is under the back deck with no direct access from inside so not convenient for letting dogs out. Otherwise, a great time. Thank you!

Stayed here for a couple of nights and we enjoyed it. The cabin was great and easy to find. We liked that it felt quiet and secluded but it was also not far from a grocery store and Sudderth street shopping. The kitchen was well-equipped to cook all our meals and the beds were comfortable. Loved the balcony because it provides an outdoor spot but keeps you or your pet away from the wildlife. The bathrooms were super warm which was great in the cold weather. Take extra toiletries and dish soap if you plan on staying for more than a couple of days as you might run out, but there's plenty of stores nearby if needed. This cabin was pet-friendly. We had our pets with us and they provided some covers for the furniture (if you're worried about taking your own for this purpose). I had taken some blankets for that reason but I could have just left them home and used theirs. Management was also very responsive via text message if I had any questions. Overall a good experience.

This charming cabin reminded me of growing up at our family cabin on Lake Superior. Our cabin was rustic - no utilities no electricity. Happy Bears was definitely going in high style. All the conveniences in a real log cabin experience! We loved it!

Cabin is located in a neighborhood. We saw lot of mule deer! The property managers check with us before our check-in to make sure the process was easy and quickly fixed an issue that we found. One of the rooms was drafty and the master bedroom was comfortable.

Exactly as advertised. Cute cabin perfect for family of four or two couples. Everything we needed for a long weekend. Cable went out during thunderstorm and we had prompt support to get the TV going. In a neighborhood but relatively private. No surprises, was what we thought it was going to be.

We needed a place to stay on our annual drive from our home in TX to our home in CO. As we are caretakers of an 85 year old this year staying anywhere wasn't going to cut it. We heard about the cleaning procedures being used with Hummingbird Cabins and booked the Happy Bears. It was perfect for our needs. We hope to stay there again on our way home. Beautiful cabin in the woods with a perfect western theme and an awesome porch to sit on and gaze up at the stars. Everything was perfect about it, comfy, clean, view was lovely, etc. Our dog loved it too! We would definitely recommend and definitely would go back! (:

Very clean and comfortable cabin with a roomy balcony, large bed/bathrooms and a large fireplace. Lots of attention to detail in the decor and comforts of home. Stays warm and cozy so you don't have to keep adjusting the thermostat. Feels like you're in the woods rather than a city with lots of deer roaming around. Perfect location for dog walking, relaxing, or as a jumping off point to tour surrounding areas. We would definitely return to this property. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The cabin was perfect for 2 couples with the bath and bed compartments separated by the living area and kitchen. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of dishes, silverware ,glasses and pots and pans. We loved the spacious deck, watching the stars come out was a nightly treat. I highly recommend this cabin!

It felt homey, it was clean, beds were comfortable. I loved the furniture that went so well with the cabin and it was comfortable to boot!! We appreciated that we could park our SUV so close to the house for unloading and loading. The deer in the back yard would come 14ft from touching me, they were breathtaking! Ours here in Texas are not so robust! Wonderful setting!!

We spent 4 nights at the Happy Bears cabin. The interior of the cabin is just what you would ask for in a small cabin. The location is great, in the tree line and a very short distance restaurants and stores. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and plan on staying again.

We love the happy bears cabin, having stayed there before. This time however the cabin was really quite dirty. Cobb webs, dirt on the floors and furniture. Also we cooked in the oven Saturday night and the whole place filled with smoke due to a really dirty oven. There was also no Lemifresh to wash dishes in the dish washer with, as recommended. Also some mold around the shower in the bathrooms. We did not let that damper out good time. We still had a good stay. Just recommending a good deep cleaning.

Overall I very nice cozy cabin. Driveway is really tight so I definitely would not suggest anyone with a truck to try and park under the carport. But other than that, an "A" rated star!!!

Happy Bears cabin was a delight and a nice surprise for my son and I. We loved all the wood on the walls, ceiling, and floors. Both baths were decorated in great decor. The kitchen was fully stocked and loved the ice machine in refrigerator. The 3 doors to The deck was very convenient, one door from bedroom, one door from kitchen, one door from bedroom 2. We had to wrap in blankets to sit out because April was too Cool to sit out very long. All the amenities are too many to name. This is our favorite Place that we've ever stayed at in Ruidoso, and being from Lubbock, we come often. The grounds were beautiful with all the flagstone and rock...I did not want to leave. My son sells hummingbird food on the internet under Hummingbird Favorite. We Left you a bottle in the kitchen cabinet. Thank you Hummingbird Rentals for having Such a special cabin. We stayed at the Happy Bears Cabin in January this year to see Merle Haggard, but his concert was cancelled so we went around with a realtor instead to look at properties since I have enjoyed so much dealing with Hummingbird Cabins. I ended up buying a cabin and adding it to their rental pool. Though there were a few unexpected stressors getting the cabin online, within a month and a half of closing it was up and running and some of this I can thank Hummingbird for due to their professional contacts in the area. The times there were mis-communications they were very professional and willing to make things work and they've done a marvelous job marketing and communicating any cabin needs since it's been renting. As for renting through them, the one thing I liked compared to other places is they do not expect you to inventory all of the dishes and utensils! It felt like the rental was ours and Charles Scott was extremely helpful and welcoming! Thank you Hummingbird Cabins staff!

We stayed at your Happy Bear Cabin, and it was wonderful. We loved the location and the view, going for a walk and seeing the wildlife. The deer that came up to the cabin was just awesome, posing for pictures and such. It was close to grocery store, town and the best part it was quiet and peaceful. The rustic bear decor was great, We felt like we stepped into an entirely different world. We wanted to stay and not leave, but we will return and rent preferrably this cabin, but we will take another one.

Stayed at the Happy Bears Cabin three nights; 8-10 October. Really liked the layout of the two-bedroom cabin with individual full bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. And enjoyed the morning visits by the local deer! However, we experienced similar issues earlier residents had commented about: dishes/silverware was dirty upon arrival and we had to hand-wash all of it prior to use (probably would have done that anyway!). Plus, three appliances didn’t work properly: microwave broken but replaced the second morning and the coffee pot and electric hot water heater for tea were suffering from mineral build up. Our biggest issue was the front door wouldn’t lock properly – I had to push the electronic throw switch several times while wiggling the door for the bolt to set in place. I mentioned it to the managing company since we knew repairmen for the microwave were coming over. In fact, we even directly told the repairmen when they arrived to do the work as we were leaving for the day. Upon return, the front door was unlocked, but luckily nothing missing. Would we stay again and recommend it to others? ABSOLUTELY, as long as the dishware cleanliness was resolved for new arrivals, mineral deposited appliances fixed/replace, and front door lock repaired. The cost was reasonable for the accommodations offered.

We recently stayed at the Happy Bears cabin. The neighborhood was not the best but the cabin was awesome! It’s not easy to find a 2 bedroom that also has 2 bathrooms and this cabin was set up perfectly with each bedroom and bath being on opposite sides of the cabin making them very private. The cabin is just a little log cabin but had all the necessary luxuries. We loved it and will return soon.

We stayed at Happy Bears Cabin in town. The cabin was comfortable and perfect for the four of us; however I would not recommend it to more than four. The neighborhood very quiet. The kitchen was well equiped and user friendly. We loved drinking coffee in the kitchen and watching the deer outside the patio door. Hope to see it again soom day.

Happy Bear Cabin – we stayed there for 6 nights. The Good – very clean, beds were great, had a deer trail in back yard, lots of birds, well stocked for cooking, quite and easy, convenient to get to. That said, a little more communication would have been helpful. The front door lock needs the combination keyed in “twice” to lock and unlock. The lock was secured a 2×3.5 inch wood block and 1 small screw providing only minimum security (but really not an issue). I walked around and saw a washer-dryer in a locked room (basement). It was not until we were leaving that we knew that there is a trap door in a closet that provides access to this. We would have washed clothes had we knew about the trap door. The ceiling fan squeaked fairly loud IF the light was turned off, so using it to sleep under was an issue (really not needed. It was cool enough with a window open). Would I stay in Happy Bear Cabin again–definitely.
