Very nice. My first time staying in Alto, and would happily do it again.

The cabin was great - needed kleenex and they should try and fix the floor creaking issue and maybe invest in new deck chairs - the maintenance guy was fabulous - fixed the water and hot tub issue immediately! Great stay!

This was a perfect escape for our family. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed the quietness and privacy of the upstairs suite. The 2 downstairs bedrooms were perfect for our adult grandchildren and 3 grandbabies. We found everything we needed. Being in the cabin was a needed res. Stair are not for th faint of heart.

House had amazing location and was very relaxing. Would highly recommend. Had great walks and the Alto Lake trail is very nice. House was clean and cozy. Only small detail has big windows facing the mountain that are double pane windows and have big hand prints in the middle, tried to clean them and noticed was on the inside between the glass. Also the RO water spout was very loose. That was only negative overall and awesome relaxing place to chill and watch all the animals! Thanks for great rememberable family trip!

The views from the cabin were unbelievable! By far one of the most unique cabin settings we've ever stayed in. The hot tub was also a nice touch, although a hose to refill it would have been helpful after a few uses. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay! Thank you for offering this wonderful place to stay! The only suggestion I would offer would be some light maintenance on the hot tub, as some of the jets were not not fully functional. Other than that, everything was perfect!

My family and I stayed at Sierra Escape during spring break and had a fabulous time. The location is great, the house was very clean and cozy. Hot tub was very nice as well, very clean. We had a spectacular view from the upstairs bedroom and the deck. You could sit at the windows and watch the wildlife would come right up by the house. The only negative thing that I have to say is that the King size bed in the loft area was not very comfortable and the drive way is a little scary if it has been snowing. Also there is no lower level entrance so you have to pack your bags up the stairs to enter the house, which would be difficult for some. We will certainly return to Sierra Escape for another vacation. We travel a lot and my children listed this vacation as the best we have taken.

The cabin is in a nice location in Alto. The driveway is super steep, so unless you have 4wd in the winter I don't think you'll make it. Has a beautiful wrap around porch with a grill and a hot tub - most mornings we would sit out there and have breakfast and our coffee - the view is phenomenal! Our first morning there our group was taking showers at the same time and the water came out smelling like rotten eggs - stunk up the entire house for our whole trip. I don't know if no one had stayed in a while or what, but that was unfortunate. And then another word of caution is that the master bedroom upstairs, while amazing with a fireplace, is a loft and there is no door or privacy. I liked this place a lot, but I would not stay as a group again.

Quiet you could hear the elk calling in the middle of the night while relaxing in the hot tub, really peaceful. Deer walking in the front yard. Will definitely consider our stay again. I just hope they fix the rotten egg smell from the plumbing before our return.

We loved this cabin. It was secluded with stunning views of the mountains and wildlife all around in the mornings. There were plenty of restaurants in the short drive to town.

My wife and I stayed here for our 15th Wedding anniversary. We loved everything about the "Sierra Escape". There is a large great room with a great sectional couch and flat screen TV with cable channels and Wi-Fi internet. The Hot Tub out on the large porch is new and the view of the stars at night can't be beat. We saw several deer 20 feet away from our front porch just grazing on the grass after the rain. "Inn of the mountain Gods Casino" is not very far and the slots were nice to us. You have to try this place it's a little slice of Heaven!

This is a great property. The living areas a very nice and large with beautiful views. The hot tub was wonderful. The appliances are a bit dated but work just fine. The location is just far enough from town. It is not remote but ver quiet. The only complaint is that hey have a toilet paper shortage Only 2 rolls per bathroom) That wasn't enough for a family of four for 5 days. Also, you have to carry every bit of trash out of the house and find a dumpster somewhere in town. Not so bad during the week, but on the last day, with all your luggage packed and having to put that nasty trash on top of your stuff is inconvenient at best. They need to allow one bag of trash to be left on closing day. It also took forever to get our deposit back. Otherwise the rental agents were excellent and the property is very nice. We would do it again.

Me & my husband got married in July but waited till November to rent a cabin to take our honeymoon. Was it worth it! The cabin was not only located in the mountains but was hidden away just enough to be near the road & be away from any neighbors. The cabin was beautiful. Hummingbird Cabins had everything you could dream of stocked ready for use in the cabin. I would love to take another trip & we would only stay in a Hummingbird Cabin. Thanks again for everything you do hummingbird cabins! Terri & John

We stayed at the Sierra Escape Cabin and it was nice and clean. Hot Tub worked great and it had a wonderful view. Everything worked in the cabin so no complaints and the location was perfect as El Capitan Mountain was just down the road. If this cabin represents what Hummingbird Cabins have in other locations, I would strongly recommend that you stay in a Hummingbird Cabin.

We stayed at the Sierra Escape which was very nice, two bedroom with huge loft for the master. Nice kitchen and great location. The only downside really is that the cabin must be left spotless, and all trash has to be hauled to one of the "community" garbage cans. That means with a family of four, leaving at 6AM, we have to pile our garbage on top of our luggage and find a trash can somewhere. Overall the management was very nice, and the cabin was good. They need to make an allowance for at least one bag of trash to be left. We did leave an open ilk container in the fridge and we'll see if we get our $300 deposit back.

We stayed at The Sierra Escape for 6 nights in July. It was hot the first couple of days so the AC in the cabin was appreciated. The house itself is spacious, well decorated clean, and charming. We have a 14 year old and an 11 year old and they stayed in the downstairs bedrooms and we stayed in the enormous loft bedroom. All the utilities functioned very well, and the kitchen is very well stocked with Utensils and dishes. The location we found to be excellent, with great views of Sierra Blanca right off the deck. The hot tub was easy to operate and was very pleasant in the evenings. The location is just far enough from town, but close enough to drive in for dinner if you need to. Two minor issues. We ran out of toilet paper, so I read the instructions (there are a lot of them, and since they have a rather large deposit, we didn’t want to miss anything). Bottom line is they only stock 2 rolls per bathroom and can’t really replace it if you run out. Not a problem, but we need to know that ahead of time. Second, You can’t leave any trash on the property, that means that on departure day you have to strip every last napkin front he house, and haul a stinky bag of garbage on top of you luggage, to a random “community” trash bin. Kind of weird. A better option would be to allow one small bag of last morning trash to be picked up by the housekeepers. I would rent this cabin again, and the Hummingbird cabin folks were very nice. I would say one more thing. Every single person I came into contact with in New Mexico, and Ruidoso in particular, was real damn nice. Real genuine, and a pleasure to converse with. Good on ya New Mexico, you’ve raised your people well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sierra cabin. It was very homey and gorgeous; we can’t wait to book our next trip to Ruidoso. Thanks!
